AXtrail TX "Trilhos do Xisto" - 22k

Boas corridas,

A chuva começava...

Corridas boas,

My English version

Good run,

In AXtrail TX "Schist Trail" - 22K, attended more than 300 people. The perfect level for those who want to take this experience, the less...trained, in my view, especially for those who are eager...

For breakfast (137mg/dL), I gave the normal fast insulin, but reduce basal. The goal was not to have a hyperglycemia, ate at 7am and the race only started at 10:30am.

This event is part of trail national championship in its other versions; UTAX and TSL, respectively, 112K and 51K. Sergio Moreira and his friend, Franscisco Oliveira represented blue O Project on the UTAX, along with Helder Filipe.

Getting dorsal number was made with necessary calm and before starting 266mg/dL (from the rich breakfast in slow hydrates).

The atmospheric condition was announced as "harsh", but the sun show off when we started. We let Miranda do Corvo and began to climb up to Gondramaz (Lousã sierra, previously unknown to me). A fantastic single track, part of a Small Route, in the middle I registered two videos, in Portuguese and English. We run, jump, walk, pass bridges and felled trees for this purpose, I encouraged the fasters, helped me after a slipped hand, I grabbed to didn't fall and support me, I gave assistance to an athlete who had twisted his ankle - says the rule that can't be alone - and the track immediately became "stuffy"...

At 1st supply in Gondramaz I registered the hypo from climbing "apparatus", 58mg/dL. I ate mainly to "hit" the hypo (blessed marmalade jam and peanut butter and nutela...), and I left there eating, immediately "catch" in two photos; on the right hand one chorizo sandwich and a chocolate bar and the other, three banana portions! The rain began...

If I hate riding on bike in the rain, I quite like do it trail running, however access to electronic devices is limited! Run for this Serra makes you want to project a higher level, because I'm "new" in trail, the logistics must be prepared differently but the "thing" it’s possible to be able to...

The descent in this section was the easiest but the rain was fully installed. I began to have a slight leg cramps, I urged hydration, lost myself with a few more athletes, took an energetic gel by another feeling, "Yes I know isn't thought here, I'm just go to the bathroom!!!", dressed and undressed my rain cut, I had given assistance again, this time with more apparatus, a cramp that made her cry of pain, as lying down with some promoting their recovery...

Already on 2nd supply, the body heat moisture in the humidity air literally put us to "throw smoking"!!! I ate and drank, missing 8K.

As we left there we went to the "wall", but before had to stretching my muscles legs. On the "wall" passed by the 1st TSL rider, his technique wasn't for everyone but the fact that begins to thunder, "motivated us" also to accelerate, with the flurry about to go down there, have not been easy for those behind.

Technical sections that followed with that entire water draining, if at the beginning were more than 8K going up, going down wasn't easily. The misplaced feet, slips, worth trees and shrubs, hands slipped some scratches. I write it again; "not even... in Boy Scouts I dirtied so much!" By the end I had to stop two or three times because of cramps in glácil muscles. 197mg/dL uff !!!

In my videos I tried to illustrate a diabetic life in their "ups and downs". The situations in which disease knowledge help to overcome, keeping it under control, are the key to a stabilized chronic disease even if we do it with mud, and I have heard say that in "Abutres Trail" they are expertise on it. (Abutres Trial is in Miranda do Corvo, as well but in January, winter season, with rain and lots of mud, LOTS)!

Run good,
casf
