I Duatlo Cross de Penamacor

Boas corridas,

Pedaladas boas,

My English version:

Good races,

Penamacor held for the 1st time, a Cross Duathlon where the MTB liking, together with some run training, to "follow" other events, made me to go ahead with my registration.

My workouts are mainly to support my regular physical activity, not even the muscle strengthening. Another difficulty highlighted when I go to this kind of evidence - fast - is that they are really fast, and thus I didn’t on my workouts!

The open race preceded the national championship, and after putting my Canyon CF SLX 29 (helmet, shoes and Vitargo GEL), in the transition park, I measure 158mg/dL, time to a bit on my Vitargo Endurance bar... My insulin, I faintly reduce the basal, fast for breakfast and lunch time are controlled as my pre-meal blood glucose values, normally, are lower.

Usually I do races from behind to front, the gravelly terrain, along with some irregularity made me some hurt. The arrival of 1st transition I was on the middle of the 15 athletes. Quickly I went out to the mountain bike where after a while I took the Vitargo GEL - different from marathons I went fast and "squeezed" the rhythm, always controlling I passed some athletes.

Upon arriving at transition park, didn’t know my position, many athletes from national championship came out by bike, beginner on this events, in the confusion, I sneak into the final race.

Arriving the finish line and after having promised a medal to my young soon, as well as the ultimatum from "blue O photography director", before heading to start line; "Now, you see if there is just to participate!?", referring to the 4th Cross Triathlon Abrantes place...
I was saing... reaching the finish line the speaker informs...And in 3rd place Carlos Alberto Santos... I remember I thought; "What did he say?!”.

Good cycling,
