1° corrida "Comendador Joaquim Morão" - Castelo Branco

Boas corridas,
Faço-me entender?!

Antes do almoço acusei uma hipo.
Mantem-te activo, a cOrrer, porque não!

Long time ago I didn't running 10k, followed, without stopping.
Morning with 156mg/dL I had the normal insulin units, but a bit more "appetite"... Do I make myself clear?!
Before lunch I accused a hypo.
Keeps you active, running, why not?!

IX Trilhos da Raia - Idanha-a-Nova

Boas pedaladas,

- Tempo 7:28:57h a pedalar 6:04:51h
- Calorias 2.804
- Ganho de elevação 1.780m

Pedaladas boas,

Good cycling,
There was the easiest 90K I've ever done, said like that!!!
Part of night before, I thinking it on the “thing"... In the morning my fasting blood glucose was 152mg/dL, perfect for cycling.

Prepared the water bottle with VITARGO ELECTROLYTE, little exaggerated, I confirmed it later. When I arrived at start line should be about 700 riders in front of me, I was nearing peloton end. Fortunately this year it rained a week before, so usual dust, would be much less than previous years!

Alcafozes village was the 1st stop, depending on how I would feel I had the objective to avoid stops – particularly for shooting – in order to avoid loss of time, despite effort managing, though km accumulate, having to be brainy.
At 1st supply I didn’t get hunger, I dilute the VITARGO, eaten half a mixed sandwich, drank water and ½ banana. For the trip I took another half and a muffin. Before tracks separating I cycled with my friend and his buddy, Pinto Infante who stood though the little, I followed for 95km. While taking a picture with Monsanto behind, passing by Dário and Zé Luís, hence, we were together.

Before Penha Garcia – a little more and we would buy the Spain “caramelos” – we face with 2nd supply. I measure a very HIGH blood sugar, but, without feeling normal symptoms: cramps, thirst, dry mouth... Wrongly I had redone the VITARGO, I ate a meat pie, drank water and took a banana, placed on the table the muffin brought from Alcafozes.

We followed by Penha Garcia east side, though Badanais when Dário tells me since early already had log some "details": before 8am, in the way to Idanha, they returned for the helmet, already on tracks came back to take GPS follow – intact – that moment in a tight turn, the foot caught in the pedal and had a fall, we began to rise to "Paleolithic"... It seemed that he had taken all drawn raffles... Penha Garcia is perfect spot that invites us to a family passage more calmly, to know in detail.

Then the "most Portuguese village in Portugal", Monsanto, for me the real "wall" of this 95K. Before we had 3rd supply; 322 mg/dL. Water, meat pie, I dilute the VITARGO, no sweets! About legs, I was clearly in my days – let’s see if I didn’t lose the workout – smoothly during whole ascent, after the pavement, sharp uphill, with the right technique, with the Canyon CF SLX 29 is simply fantastic to maneuver, light as the owner.

The downhill in the same Roman road had a summer fires testimony, violent treatment to the bike, shoulders and hands, Dário can said it, regrouped, the front tire interior they broke. Upon recommendation, took out some air to the tire, put a inner tube, but after some time , with the bike in hand, opted to stay in supply area and drive up, avoiding a fall ostentatious.
During this “companionship" process – most importantly – my record time, was for the many events throughout the year, we were already in Idanha-a-Velha – Egitânia – the 3rd supply. I ate two meat pies and fruit with water to keep up with everything.

Zé Luís and I followed to Marechal Carmona north dam, always looking at the clock, still wanted to beat my time. Already on dam last single track Zé Luís accompanied by two riders tells me to follow, we were near tar ascent.

After 93km, on my GPS, I can say that I hit my time in events with this distance, although not many, workouts with Canyon Ultimate AL get results. Blood glucose, we need to talk! Along the track, after the 1st measurement, I didn’t touch any fast action HC that usually I bring with me, in supplies zones I ate what I have related. The VITARGO concentration was decreasing over time, since after VITARGO Recovery and bath I measured 176mg/dL.
Summary:
- Position #209 in 224
- Distance: 93,66km
- Time: 7:28:57h cycling 6:04:51h
- 2.804 Calories
- Gain eletavion: 1.780m

Cycling good,
