Ao almoço tinha 116mg/dL.
This event started before the date itself, in 2012, we did 99km!! Passed through Spain, went up to Malcata Mountain and cycling back to Penamacor, with the possibility to seeing a lynx!! This year, due to poor adherence to 85km, we received an informative email, this distance it was not in - relief and despair.
My fasting blood glucose was 126mg/dL, I reduce the fast and basal insulin units, the basal is the key to a “peaceful” day and the remaining hours. It was the announced cold temperature with blasts, lengthen that impression. I lifted the bag with everything that belonged to me (loved the content, at home, even more!).
When heating I talking with a recently friend, during all briefing time, till they "oblige" us to follow, had already given the started! We've been together for a while, unfortunately for me, we also speak about technical issues. I can say, after this detail, that lately I have with holes, I noticed something soft on the back... 8km were going, I asked him, also because I didn't have GPS, something with the "ON" button!! Confirmed, another event, one more hole! I follow on the possible pace: stop, confirm, fills and refills!
It was not finish! Recognizing the place, we were coming to 1st supply zone, Freixial Camping Park, Águas - Penamacor (was the final Scout camping activities every year), I put my hands into my pockets, no, no blood glucose meter!!! I started having to manage everything much more carefully. I had the impression of being in a high value... The VITARGO ELECTROLYTE was "consistent" and I filled with H2O, ate a banana, orange, a ham sandwich and grabbed two cereals bars. The tire... after a few more "pumped" seemed to hold up.
The Spanish’s from Gata Sierra mark strong presence in this event and we leave "together". For a good kilometer was stopping to fill "my fate", pass nearly streams, I ate cereals bars and some cookies, we passed the 2nd supply (only liquids, on a road "merged" to Spain, where there were technical assistance, but for me was everything okay!), passed through bridges, made some ascents and the Spanish’s disappeared ... I had to fill the tire!
I have a slight resistance to mud (should be from the almost white equipment), but on this event should be a lesson to me. Why I turn away - "happy" - I ended up in a climb, I climb and continued to rise, always thinking I was on the right path till a rather wide intersection. If I haven't seen any indications for some time, there, wasn't nothing (and was well marked: ribbons, arrows and cut way)! I went down almost everything, till find two raiders, but I didn’t demote from what I was already convinced, and so, I "showed them" the way up. Conclusion, we call the Organization, it was to descend. I put my 29 CF SLX looking of "tapes"!!!
