Trail do Xisto: 22K

Boas caminhadas,

Corridas boas,
casf

My English version:

Good runs,

The first 10min. from an excellent trail running event was when I collect my dorsal number, Catarina saw him! Over there was Carlos Sá, you didn't seen him?! I can say we were privileged to have a private "gathering" with Carlos Sá. He knew blue O Project, speak about trail running in general, from his projects, the diabetic girl present in 'Coast Chanllenge' and even encouraged my child to practice... what more he please!

At fasting I had 91mg/dL, didn't take fast insulin, reduce basal ¼ and ate "to go to work." Before the race, 3h after breakfast, I was wrong having fast insulin, convinced that would be high, meanwhile I ate a banana, without measured my blood glucose!

Up to Gondramaz requires leg power, balance, and this time, it seems to me, they invested in climbing, the "avoidable" hypo stopped me, I noticed a 'blurred" vision - me, who like to take some pictures - took the opportunity to eat and enjoy the views...

Up there was my family, the incentives from the presences and Emanuel, a friend I met at last, in flesh.
The second time I left there with food in my hand and running but I was apprehensive. I programmed some strengthening legs and I was there tested the "machine". In the 2nd supply I measured 221mg/dL, the effort was smaller and the race pace was flowing very good but I admit, I exceed on the food...

I reached finish line and the speaker put me to talk. "Castelo Branco, and next year I'll be here again with my diabetes" I said... Followed by some massages. I went relaxed to a hot bath, like I never had on any event. I get wet much more searching for participating restaurants than on the 23K, but I made up with the roast beef in the oven Baker.

I said the event was excellent? Was the best, my diabetes enjoy with everything to that was right!

Run good,
casf

VII Trail de Conímbriga Terras de Sicó - 25K

Boas corridas,

E a vila aceita, recebe, e acarinha.

My English version:

Good races,

It seems Sicó Trail is one of national trail events with more "people" present; 111K, 50K, 25K, 15K, running, walking... And the village accepts it, welcomes and nurtures all.

On Sunday morning was only wind, but sunny, for whom was follow the race from Friday at 00am, in 1st supply, K34, be more than 30 athletes with hypothermia symptoms... It hurts only to hear it.

It was the 1st time and I must say I never had eaten so much one a trail running event, in Sicó, on all supplies, for those who enjoy regional typical high-quality delicacies served with the highest kindness, the race go to a 2nd plan!

My blood glucose began with 115mg/dL in fasting and during supplies I registered, 139mg/dL and 127mg/dL, which during the efforts where compensating with dark bread with honey, regional cheeses, water, bananas, oranges... I also said there was corn bread, dried fruits, potato chips, salted meats, pure gastronomy, singing groups, locals having fun and us have to run.

NOTE: Never in any outdoors activity I practiced was present with such a large number of peacekeepers. Obrigado.

When we started flanking Ega River, it took me almost 20K of dry feet, it was when it started! Paulo Amaral from organization, called me with a camera, "forced" me to run in the mud, me, who try to never fall arriving to the end asking me always "if I went though the same sites than others?"!!!

Last track, the waterfall, had a high beauty, crowded with difficulty for us in keeping up. The mud gave way to clay, a lot of clay. We ascended and descended by ropes, climbing over rocks, down hanging by branches, feeling welcome every tree trunk to keep from falling. When we got the waterfall, almost nothing was dry, but the beauty of this moment ingrained on my fingernails because I was there. I loved it.

PS - Or I go on diet or I do training! My knees don't go with beautiful sceneries.
